The Pipe Solar designing tool streamlines the process of creating solar designs, calculating energy production, and generating proposals. In this article, we'll guide you through the key features and steps to help you master our PV designing tool.
1. Positioning the Map and Drawing Setbacks
Position the center of the map using the red marker pin.
Click the "Draw SetBacks" button (if enabled by installer) to draw the polygon for the roof plane you are designing solar panels for.
2. Adding Solar Panels and Setting Array Attributes
Click the "Add New Panel" button and choose either Portrait or Landscape mode.
Identify the shading value using our slider input for this array.
Rotate the array using the rotate icon so that the azimuth arrow is facing downwards. Ensure the arrow points in the direction a ball would fall if dropped.
Use the click and drag panel placement feature to draw solar panels on the roof.
3. Modifying Array Attributes and Adding New Arrays
To change the tilt and shading value, always click on the existing array and click on the "Set Tilt" or "Set Shading" button on the left column.
Always click on the "Add New Panel" to add a new array on the roof. (screenshot)
4. Calculating Energy Production and Making Changes
5. Creating or Updating a Proposal
After completing the design, click "Create Proposal" or "Update Proposal" at the bottom of the page to go to the proposal page.
